This Resource Guide is designed to support efforts to measure and improve Medicaid MCO performance for people with disabilities.

RTI used an interdisciplinary approach in its analyses of the petition review process, combining systems analysis, operations research, economics, toxicology, chemistry, environmental science, and data quality analysis. A taxonomy of the process was developed. Information was gathered on the types of personnel, level of effort by personnel type, and any other resources required.

Most policymakers agree that the current structure of the Social Security Administration's disability programs creates substantial work disincentives for people with disabilities. One set of policy options concerns changing the links both between Medicare and the Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) program, and between Medicaid and the Supplemental Security Income (SSI) program.

State Assisted Living Policy: 1998 Executive Summary

This booklet, developed by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is about informal caregiving — unpaid care given voluntarily to ill or disabled persons by their families and friends. Informal caregiving by families and friends is the backbone of America's long-term care system.

As part of DALTCP's National Study of Assisted Living for the Frail Elderly, the National Academy for State Health Policy has been conducting annual surveys of all state licensing and housing finance agencies involved in assisted living, as well as of Medicaid agencies that provide funding for assisted living.
