TITLE: National Aging Programs Information System - State Performance Reports

DESCRIPTION: The NAPIS/SPR system is a reporting system on Older Americans Act services delivered by the State and their sub-state Area Agencies on Aging. It was first implemented in FY 1995 and is collected on an annual basis. Most of the data are in the form of statewide totals; individual data are not reported. There is also some data on the characteristics of the sub-state Area Agencies on Aging. The NAPIS/SPR system reports unduplicated counts of Older Americans Act services delivered including personal care, homemaker, chore, home delivered meals, congregate meals, transportation, legal assistance, information and assistance, and more. Detail client profiles are reported including breakdowns by race/ethnicity and functional (ADL/IADL status). The target age group for Older Americans Act services is 60 years and older
The Administration on Aging releases a detailed data tables for each year. At the present time, the data is available through 2000.
RACE/ETHNICITY: NAPIS/SPR uses the standard OMB race/ethnicity categories for minorities (African-American, Hispanic Origin, American Indian/Native Alaskan, and Asian/Pacific Islander); the data are also reported for non-minority persons as well as for the total. Minority/nonminority status data are collected for service use of six "registered" services (personal care, homemaker, chore, home delivered meals, adult day care, and case management).
